MARK HARRISON welcomes online students at all levels, from serious beginners through to working professionals.
Mark Harrison offers on-line private instruction in pop & jazz keyboard, improvisation, theory and harmony, ear training, composition, and arranging, from his teaching studio in the Los Angeles area. After each lesson, Mark will email you a summary of topics covered, and practice recommendations for the following lesson. You'll also be able to record your Zoom lessons, for later reference as needed. All of Mark's lessons are supported by his unmatched syllabus of over thirty music instruction books, published by Hal Leonard and used by many thousands of musicians worldwide. Mark is also the music director for the top-tier Steely Dan tribute band "Doctor Wu" (performing all over Southern California)... and he therefore brings his real-world performance experience, to all of his online instruction!

Mark has a wealth of private and classroom teaching experience (including faculty positions at the Grove School of Music and the University of Southern California), and has instructed Grammy-winners, hit songwriters, members of the Boston Pops and L.A. Philharmonic orchestras, and first-call touring professionals...as well as many enthusiastic amateur and semi-pro musicians around the world.

Many students come to Mark having bought one or more of his instruction books, and wanting the focused guidance through the material that only the author can provide. We can also recommend study materials for use in your lessons, depending on your musical goals. Most of Mark’s students take lessons every week, which we recommend in order to make the best progress.
